2015 - Martin König

Today, musicians don’t have to ask themselves where to put their guitar, their sheet music, or their microphone—it has become a given that a solution is readily available. With its instruments, mics, and music stands, seats, benches, and accessories, K&M has made it its mission to provide these solutions for more than 65 years.
Martin König was born in Thuringia (Thüringen) in 1936, and his path began like this: Following two expropriations, his parents, Karl and Dora König, made the logical decision to have a fresh start in West Germany. In 1949, they founded König & Meyer in the city of Wertheim. To this day, the company is characterized by its diligence, zeal, and know-how.

2012 - Yoshihiro Hoshino

For many people, music represents a primal energy that feeds the human soul. In his heart Mr. Yoshihiro Hoshino has always believed this to be true, which has led him to dedicate most of his life to supporting the power of music through some of the world’s most recognized and beloved instruments: Ibanez guitars and Tama drums. While the success of these brands is due in large part to Mr. Yoshihiro Hoshino‘s tireless efforts and long career, another crucial element is his philosophy—he sees his job as not just manufacturing musical instruments, but brightening people’s lives through the magic of those instruments while making a contribution to the music culture. more...

2010 - Hartley Peavey

When most people dream of a successful career in music, it involves being on stage and making records. Although Hartley Peavey didn’t find success making music, he instead had a much greater success as a man who profoundly changed the world of music in his own way. If Hartley Peavey had realized his childhood dreams of becoming a Rock’n Roll musician, he might not have been able to make it easier for millions of musicians to realize their dreams. We can all be grateful that fate had chosen Hartley Peavey for something greater than being just another rock and roll musician...more...

2002 - Ikutaro Kakehashi

It's not much of an exaggeration to say that Mr. Kakehachi's life story is every bit as colorful as Roland's current product range. If we were to pay respect to every noteworthy aspect of his long and fascinating journey, we would still be here tomorrow. On the other hand, we're here to pay honor to one of the most extraordinary people in the music business... more...

2001 - Jim Marshall

Let me ask you a question: Who is this guy we always see at the Musikmesse or NAMM show? The one who's first in the morning on the Marshall stand, smoking a big cigar and rolling up countless Marshall posters that he'd already spent hours signing! more...
